Yall Knew I Wouldn’t Go Through With It
Ok, a little while back I posted about trying to get in shape with our XBOX Kinect. Here is my update to it. I’m not gonna do it….lol. I have never enjoyed working out…it bores the crap out of me. I love playing XBOX, but the games I mostly like on this Kinect (that we have anyway) are golf, bowling, & darts. You only have to use your arms on them so it might be tough to get in shape. There are some fun games besides that we have but they do take alot of energy. Track n Field…you really have to run in place to make your person run. Same thing with baseball…if you don’t hit a homerun, you have to run to first base. It’s great if you want to do what I said…I’m just not into it. I made the post hoping it would make me stick to it, but I would rather throw some darts, bowl, or shoot a 6 under in golf & drink my beer. Sorry, it has taken me so long to update you on nothing. Getting In Shape With Xbox Kinect

We have had the Xbox Kinect since it came out. It is alot fun, but will wear you out. For those of you that may not know…it’s the newest video console game where you play without any controllers…you are the controller. You just move your body like you were actually doing whatever you are playing. Our youngest 2 girls really like playing & it’s so much fun playing with them. Anyway…my wife Krista saw a story where a woman lost some weight playing it so much a week instead of her normal workout. I just thought of trying this today to give me something else to write about on here. Now, I’m not a very big guy (never have been)…I’m 5 ’9 & 165lbs. I do however have too much of a gut than I want & would like to be able to do yard work without getting sore. Plus I’m 42 now & have a new son coming next month…will need some energy. I also figured that if I post this…maybe it will make me stick to it to keep you all updated. We play now, but not so many times a week & may go a month without playing at all. We play bowling the most. track & field, volleyball, boxing, & the Adventures game will kick your butt. We are getting season 2 of the sports game tomorrow. I know it has football, skiing, golf, darts & baseball I think…not sure exactly.
I’m planning on maybe even keeping up with what games we play each time & for how long to give you all better info. I guess it all depends on how much work that might be. Not sure if I will update you every week or every other week. Let me see how it goes. I don’t know how much I will lose, but will try really hard for all of you & for me. I have always been bored with working out so I never stuck to it. These games are fun, so it should help me stick to it & get my old butt in shape. I really enjoy playing with the girls anyway…so it’s a “win win” right? Check back to see what happens….this could be really funny. Til next time peeps…
Help Me Welcome A Newbie
Close to or a little over a year ago now I met a really cool dude on a site for Xbox players. He goes by the name of Irratebass. He later joined & was a major contributor to the Japslap site that I built & tried to get going good (have recently taken it down). We are basically the same age & like alot of the same things. He really knows movies & games. Once I took down Japslap, he contacted me on Twitter & asked how he was gonna talk to me about movies now? Anyway, we started talking about stuff & I started telling him the whole blogging thing. He found mine from Twitter & asked about it. I started telling him that he should start one. He was a little apprehensive about it at first not knowing how WordPress worked & that he wasn’t a good writer, but Mr. Joseph (listed in my blog roll) & I started working on him. I kept telling him to get with it & started texting him to tell how to work certain features & where to find certain things. He finally gave in & started one up. I’m glad that he did, I think he is going to bring us some really good stuff. He has made 2 posts so far & I think they are really good. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know so that maybe you could jump over & leave him some comments or pass on some tips & things to him to help get him going. Movie Mondays (Black Swan)
Ok, first I have to tell you all the crap we went through to watch this one. We have a subscription to Netflix that plays via my XBOX. I love it, but they don’t really have the newest movies on there. Also on the XBOX is Zune…you can just pay for each movie that you want using your Microsoft Points. So, Saturday night, we decided to do that with Black Swan. You have the option of streaming it instantly or downloading to your console & then you have it for 14 days. We tried the streaming thing, but it came back saying that my system wouldn’t allow HD which is nuts because all of our stuff is HD..the Xbox 360 Elite, our “56 inch tv, blu-ray…everything..(not sure what that was all about) Anyway, so I decided to download it. We started the download & it seemed liked it wasn’t working, finally it crept on the screen that it had gotten 1%. Keep in my mind that our wireless router is a cheap piece of junk (the xbox won’t even get online half of the time). We watched the clock & 55 minutes had gone by & it was only up to 6%. I said the hell with this & decided to let it download all night while were asleep & so we watched it last night. So, here is what I thought:

It’s basically about a ballet that is called “Swan Lake”..the main girl turns from a white swan to a black swan (good-vs. evil) Even though you don’t see her much Winona plays the star of the dance (swan princess) It’s about her retiring or being forced to retire by the boss (Vincent Cassel) & all of the other girls scrambling to take her part. Natalie works real hard to get it. Mila wants it too & she is the new girl trying to fit in on top of that. There isn’t that much dancing…just mainly Natalie trying to get this top spot & having to deal with over protectant mom (Barbara Hershey). She is also a real hard worker & a goodie-goodie. Mila trys to take adavantage of that to mess her up. It’s pretty strange & sometimes hard to keep up with because Natalie is so hard on herself & dealing with her mom. So alot of it is just her seeing crazy things that she thinks is happening for real. Although it was strange & sometimes hard to figure out what was going on…if you like watching great acting…it’s a good one. Natalie Portman whom I have liked ever since “Beautiful Girls” & Mila are just plain awesome in it. There is a pretty good sex scene between this two as well. I’m not gonna give away the ending, but it may shock you. I liked it, just thought that it would have been more about the dancing & not quite so dark. Til next time peeps…

So, You Like Driving Games Huh?

Part 2 has been even better to me so far. You start off on a different island in this one, but once you get to a certain level, you can go to the airport & fly back to Hawaii & do all the things over there again. You can just fly back in forth between the 2 islands as often as you like. In this one, you start by picking an avatar to play with out of like 6 choices, but you can change the way you look later on. Yep, you can actually go to a plastic surgeon & get work done. You even have bandages all of your face for a while afterwards. Also in this one, you can go to a hairdresser & change your hairstyle. I haven’t unlocked everything yet to be able to tell you everything, but the stuff that I have found so far is really wild. They have been having trouble with their servers so far so you can’t buy a club yet or do all of the online challenges. Remember how I told that you could take pictures of your cars in the 1st one….well in this one, you can put the pictures you take up in your house (just replace them with the ones that came with the house). Can’t believe that they thought of that. You can also buy new furniture for your houses. Another new thing. I haven’t done this but there is a casino in this one…not sure how it works because you have to download it for 850 Microsoft points & just haven’t done it yet…too busy trying to uncover all of the roads. There are also cars that you can download in both, but it just puts them in the dealerships…you still have to buy them. You can also uncover paint shops to change the color of your cars & even put decals on them in this one. There are also car wash places in this one too. Three girls in bikini’s wash your ride for you & it will cost you $ 1,500. The cars are really cool & they all sound & handle different. Most of the cars you know except for a few that have different names because I guess those didn’t give them permission you use. Example…Porsche in the game is called RUF, but you can tell it’s a 911. Also new in this one…you can buy SUV’s & have alot of races & challenges on dirt roads (so much fun). I hope that there are motorcycles in this one too because they were alot of fun. There may be stuff that I have left out, but I think from what I put down here, you get the gist of it. I’m telling, it has to be the best one out there…sure hope they keep making them because I’m ready for # 3! LOL Til next time peeps…
Zombie Killer
Ok, so last weekend I was looking through the arcade games to download on my Xbox 360 Live Dashboard. It’s been a while since I had gotten a new game from there. I found “Dead Rising 2:Case Zero” & got it. Have always liked the ones where you kill zombies since playing the old game in the arcade where you held the plastic guns & shot at them..(think it was Haunted something by Sega)..can’t remember exactly. Believe or not, getting this game was the first one I have had in my whole gaming life experience from Atari, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, PS1, & PS2. It was the full version of the game & was only 400 Microsoft Points to get it. It has been pretty cool so far. You have a little girl that has been bitten by a zombie but there is a medicine out there called “zombrex” that will hold her over from changing for 12 hours (but you have to find it). It’s pretty bloody & you can pretty much beat their asses with anything that you pick up..playing cards, casino chips, garbage cans, cash registers, food trays, chain saws…you get the picture. There are people that are in the town that aren’t zombies too…you help them & they gave you clues to what you are looking for. Go download it & check it out…it may not be the best, but well worth the 400 points…Til next time peeps…
Give Me A Break
As most of you know by now…Kobe Bryant is in the new commercial for the game “Call of Duty Black Ops”. Pretty cool one at that…Jimmy Kimmel is also in this! What is really getting under my skin is that some guy that is against guns (which I don’t like them either) & a couple of sports writers are complaining about Kobe being in this…..WHAT A CROCK? For those of you that don’t know…”Call of Duty” is a shoot-em up war game. These idiots are saying that Kobe doing this is sending the wrong message to kids…(since he is a role model). Why do we always blame movie stars, athletes, & bands for the wrong things that your kids do?…that is your problem. There is nothing wrong with him being in this commercial. I have all of the COD games except for this one & they are really alot of fun. Kids play video games (see that…GAMES)…you have to remember that alot of athletes are young too & love to play video games. It’s just like when you tell your kids not to be scared at a movie…what do you say…”It’s not real honey…it’s just a movie”…same thing here…it’s just a game! People that have no clue always try to tarnish somebody’s good name or ruin it for everybody. Many years ago here in town & bunch of people picketed out in front of Memphis’ best strip club…..if you don’t like what goes on inside these places….DON’T GO…leave everybody else out of it. Same here…if you are against this game…don’t let your kid have it….this is not Kobe’s fault or problem & there is nothing wrong with him promoting something fun that kids love to do. A True Breakthrough in Gaming
Ok, so our new Xbox Kinect came in yesterday. Alot of time was spent trying to figure it all out, but after we started playing it…it’s awesome & so much fun. Not really sure why they have the workout games…because everything you do on it is a workout. If you want to get your ass in shape & have a whole lot of fun with your kids…you have to get one of these. We got the one that came with “Adventures”& “Sports” games. It took a while to do all the downloads & updates, but it’s great. While I was getting it set-up..the book said to put in the “Sensor Software” disc…I looked all through the box & everything in it to find this disc & it was nowhere to be found. Thought I was screwed again after waiting extra days to get it. I follow @XboxSupport on Twitter & told them what was going on…they answered me in about 2 minutes & told me to just put in the “Adventures” game that came with it & that worked. Still learing stuff on it & downloading updates, but it is so amazing. Here is a little secret that Xbox failed to mention (at least I never heard anything about it)..it takes pictures of you while you are playing & then shows them to you on the screen after you finish that game…it catches you in some really funny poses. I’m sure they are laughing hard now that it’s out….but go get it…it’s well worth it! Til next time peeps…
Stiffed on Overnight Delivery
Well, my wife ordered our Kinect Thursday morning around 9:00 a.m. & the site said that it had guaranteed next day delivery (we paid $40.00 extra for this) as long as you ordered before noon… wouldn’t that mean that we should have gotten it yesterday? I kept calling her at work to see if she got it (she had it shipped there because we were both at work & not home to get it). She put in the tracking # the site gave us & it said it wasn’t a good #. Finally around 3:30 she said that the UPS guy came, but didn’t have it. He put in the # on his little machine & got nothing. The bad thing is that UPS doesn’t deliver on Saturdays. She checked the site again & it said “no such package exists”. She goes into work this morning & it now shows the package somewhere in Kentucky. Guess it will be Monday now before we get it. Was really excited to have it for the weekend because I have both of our 9-year old girls this weekend. Now, I have to go through a whole day again of work before I can check it out…that kills me because I have no patience at all when I really want something…LOL Til next time peeps…
